BAR-BA-SOL
- David Cook -
When was the last time you had to annoy a friend to come to your rescue because you didn't have enough cash to pay for that roti tampal? No, this little shop does not accept credit, nor do they let you wash their dishes.
One of the worse incidents I had was driving to the toll booth, blissfully taking my wallet out to find: -
1. Starbucks stamp card
2. Coffee Bean stamp card
3. Bank cards
4. Driving license
5. Insurance card
6. Identification card
7. Stamps
8. Passport photoes (the decent ones)
9. A one-year-old list of things-to-do
10. No cash
Plus a long line behind. In KL.
Immediately on automatic mode, I scrambled for my car's coin compartment, praying I didn't spend most of it for the MiMi crackers the day before. Lo and behold, exactly the change I needed. 1 sen coins and all.
I bought a Touch n Go card AND the Smart Tag immediately after.
Out of my way, losers!
No, I didn't ditch the list for obvious reasons.

I once managed to get through a toll booth without paying complete, I was like 30 cents short and in a similar situation like yours. The booth person was gracious enough to let me through and I took down her name and employee number and made sure to go back about an hour later after having dashed to an ATM to pay and give her a tip. As for restaurants, many a time and thanfully it has been restaurants that know me, so, they let me off and I go pay the next day. Happenned in Taj as well once.
I have few experience bringing no cash after having meal, not a good example and should not repeat that again, anyway happened at Taj where my beloved friends cheerfully misinterpreted my expression of needing help (they thought that I was waving goodbye) , happened at office cafe where I had to put aside my noodles at counter and ran for atm machine, happened where I had to fill in 5-liter water bottle with petrol, back to the carpark to start my car.
Ps. Kembara doesn't have low petrol level indicator.
Oh I did that as well once... went through a toll with literally just enough change to the dot. After many days of procrastinating withdrawing money from the bank. lol
