MY FATHER'S EYES

"Make sure you come home for dinner."

A message from Mom.

After dance class, I went straight home. I was already late, it was tango.

To my delight, Dad actually cooked crabs for dinner. Yup, my Dad. I'm not supposed to eat much but this time I didn't really mind.

Later my Dad and I sat down and chatted. It has been a while.

Early next morning as I was still half asleep I watched as they drove off, the house filled with silence once again. Back to bed for me.

Coincidentally, I was also asked to go come over by my Miri Mom for crabs. Of course I don't eat crabs but nevertheless, I went over.

As for sitting down and talkign with my dad, wow, that has not occured for a while for me, I am always away from home for work... sometimes I really think if all this sacrifices and hardwork pays off.

Oh well, it is always nice to sit down with my dad and I fondly remember the times sitting down with my mom when she was still alive ... I do miss those days and when the house is filled with silence, the heart is slightly filled with melancholy.
